Challenges, Growth Aids

Adding Hair Supplements to My Hair Regimen

Hair Supplements regimenIf you’ve been following my hair journey for a while, you know that my hair journey focuses on treating my hair well once it’s grown from my scalp.  And while I have dabbled in using growth aids here and there, I haven’t taken it too seriously.  But at the end of last year, I started taking a multivitamin that had ingredients to promote healthy hair.  Now, months later I am noticing that my new growth is softer and shinier than I am accustomed too.  And my hair is growing in too thicker.  (The thicker hair may be a result of my longer stretches, but I’m not going to overlook the possibility that these hair supplements are contributing to that as well.)  With this recent realization I want to dive deeper into the world the hair supplementation.

Currently, I am taking Nature’s Bounty Women’s Multivitamin Gummies for Health and Beauty daily.  I have fallen off a bit on my garlic supplements, but I do still take them here and there to keep my shedding to a minimum.  In addition to these, I just ordered Bamboo tea and Beautifully Bamboo Hair, Skin and Nails that I am excited to give a try.  I ordered a 30 day supply of both and I am taking their 30 day challenge.  I will report back on my initial thoughts after 30 days.

Why These Hair Supplements?

Well, you can thank LongHairCareForum for that one.  I was on there the other day and pretty much was captivated by this one thread where women were raving about these products.  So as soon as I heard that the supplements were back in stock, I ordered mine.  They should be here on Tuesday and I plan to start right away.

What are the Potential Benefits?

The bamboo tea is rich in silica, which promotes “stronger, thicker hair, reduced shedding, and healthy growth…healthier skin, and stronger, longer nails.”  And the hair supplement contains Biotin, MSM, Folic Acid, Amino Acids, Bamboo Extract (Silica), Collagen, Vitamin C, Cayenne Pepper and Green Tea Extract, which are all ingredients that contribute to youthful skin, healthy hair and strong nails.  While I love all the benefits, I’m in it for the hair and skin.

My Current Length:

June 2016 Length Check watermarked

…which you guys on Instagram are telling me is waist length (woo-hoo!!!).  …And you can also see that my new growth is really thick at the top.

Have you taken hair supplements? If so, which ones and what did you think?

  1. I tried a hair supplement in the past and even though it gave me alot of growth, the shedding afterwards was ridiculous. I’ll take vitamins for overall health but not focused on just hair.

Yes Kim, your hair has bounced back from your major cut.

  2. I’ve used the hairfinity vitamins which worked well. But my regular regimen includes biotin, msm and a multivitamin.

  3. I am trying the natures bounty gummies with biotin as well. I was thinking of trying straight biotion. I tried manechoice plus once and i had no issues. It helped to control my shedding for sure and i had no excessive shedding after. I might try those again when they have a half off discount again. Will get a two months supply. I took only tablet instead of the two suggested. I have heard of the bamboo tea as well.

    1. I was thinking about doing the same thing with my hair supplement. It says to take two capsules, but I’m thinking I’ll start with one since I’m going to be drinking the bamboo tea as well. We’ll see though. Thanks for sharing, Kristen!

  4. Awesome, looking forward to see the results 🙂 I have heard a few people saying good things about those gummies..
