Last weekend was Memorial Day weekend. Did you enjoy the first unofficial weekend of summer? We didn’t do much of anything thanks to tons of rain, but I’m looking forward to a re-do. I’m preparing for a beach trip and as I pack things for our days at the beach, I decided I’d share what I carry in my beach bag. It’s a little heavier now that I have a little one, but most of the basics are still the same.

What’s In My Beach Bag?
First off check out my black and white animal print beach bag — which animal, you ask? Ugh…I’m not sure, but how cute is this bag? I got it at Ross for $12 a few weeks ago. It’s large with a small zipper compartment on the inside and a smaller clutch-like pouch for storing smaller items.
Sunscreen. Now you know I can’t go to the beach without my main-main beauty item. I bring Neutrogena for my face and Target’s Up and Up Spf 50 Spray for my body. Depending on how long we stay at the beach we may have to reapply a few times and the spray makes the application process quick and easy. I’m not up on all of the dos and don’ts when it comes to sunscreen on my 21 month old’s skin so I picked up Coppertone’s Water Babies Sunscreen for her in Spf 50 as well.
Lip Balm. If I wear any makeup to the beach it’s the bare minimum– just concealer, powder, and eyebrows. And I certainly don’t stress myself out about trying to reapply or retouch at the beach. But I do make sure to at least bring some lip balm. Lately, I’ve been using Lip Mendex by Blistex.
Compact mirror. …For those spot checks after coming out of the water.
Sunglasses. For style and protection from the sun. I got these from The Loft several months ago.
Hair ties. Because I always have 2 or 3 hair ties on me for those moments where you find yourself (or someone else) needing one.
Water bottles …to keep the family cool and hydrated. I fill them with ice and water and hope that it stays cool for as long as possible.
Water Mister/Fan. This little gem is the best, especially for those of you/us who aren’t too keen on being hot for long periods of time. This fan helps to keep us cool when we’re not in the water. The brand is O2Cool (Elite Misting Fan) and we found ours a Target, but I’m sure there are tons of other places you can find this.
Snacks…especially for my daughter. When it’s time for her to eat, she wants to eat IMMEDIATELY. lol. I like to always carry these food puree pouches from Plum Organics as well as other snacks to keep her calm when hunger strikes.
Hand Sanitizer and Wet Wipes…to clean our hands before eating anything at the beach. I have Germ-X here, but I also use a ton of other brands.
Beach Towels. I got ours from Bed Bath & Beyond, they were $10 each before the 20% off coupons.
Cell Phones because we never leave home without them. And headphones in case I feel like watching a YouTube video or listening to music.
Beach Bucket Playset (not pictured). I mean, what’s a beach trip without sand castles?!?
