This weekend was a blast from the past. I went to my college reunion, which was so much fun. I forgot how amazing my classmates were and years later they are even more so. It was such a great time reconnecting with everyone. And in preparation for the weekend of fun, I decided to go with a roller set because it gets my hair straight using only indirect heat plus it’s another great low manipulation style. I wanted my hair to be fresh for the evening’s festivities, so I was rushing to get my hair done in the hours before the babysitter arrived. But I surprised myself with how fast I set my hair. It took me less than an hour to go from shampooing to having the rollers in my hair, which is probably the fastest roller set I’d ever done.
I started with my moisturizing pre-poo. It helped me to loosen my flexi rod curls and detangle my hair before shampooing. I washed my hair with Design Essentials Moisture Retention Shampoo, which smells amazing by the way. After two lathers, I deep conditioned for 15-20 minutes with Design Essentials Rosemary Mint Conditioner. I applied GVP The Conditioner before setting my hair with gray magnetic rollers. And I went with the mohawk method. It has been a while since I’ve roller set my hair with pretty much no new growth and I think that’s why I was able to set my hair so quickly. I sat under the hooded dryer for a little over an hour. And when I removed the rollers, I kept my curls in place with pin curls until I was ready to head out. On my way out the door, I hit my hair with Sebastian Shaper Plus Hold Styling Hairspray to give my curls staying power. Here’s the ‘do from the front and back:
