Let me start out by saying that this was probably the most chaotic relaxer day process I’ve had in a long time. The relaxer application went smoothly, but after that — it was sheer chaos, lol. (Spoiler Alert: There was a happy ending, as evidenced by the picture above).
I went all in with the leave-in treatment and slathered it all over my hair. I let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Then I rinsed. And again, I realized that I didn’t have my neutralizing shampoo with color alarms. So, I grabbed Roux Porosity Control; let that sit for a minute, rinsed, and then I shampooed with Mizani Phormula-7 Neutralizing and Chelating Shampoo. After that I deep conditioned with Nexxus Humectress, I applied GVP The Conditioner, CHI Silk Infusion and Proclaim Spray On Glosser as my leave-ins, heat protectants, and styling products. For styling purposes, I went with the blow dry and flat iron.
What are your hair length goals for 2015?
Hey all's well that ends well. Definite progress.
Your hempline looks great. By your next touch up you will be waist length.
Your hair still managed to thrive even with all the shedding. I've know some women who've had to cut many inches off sometimes all their hair off due to post partum shedding.
I believe the proactive steps you took to prepare you for the shedding has paid off. your length is still great. Kudos!
Thanks, Abbi!
Thanks, Tomes! I hope so.
Thanks, Savvy Sammy! I was really happy that I didn't have to do a drastic cut.
Your hair looks great post trim! You'll be back to WL in no time I'm sure! 🙂

What method did you use to trim your ends?
Hi Shantel,
I used the method I described in this post –> How to Self Trim (Slight U Shape): http://www.fancyflairlady.com/2012/01/my-last-wash-day-of-2011-trim-included.html)
I hope this helps!
Thanks this process seems simple to do. I like a blunt cut but i think i will self trim and do a slight U cut this time as the blunt cut will cause me to lose too much length to even it out.
Yes it is. I'm so glad that I found it. I've been using it for years now.
