Beauty Buys.

My current mascara is starting to dry up and clump, which meant it was time to find something new.  I’ve been on what seems like a never-ending search for a drugstore dupe to my all time favorite mascara: DiorShow’s Blackout.  I just got through with L’Oreal’s Telescopic Mascara and while it’s lengthening capabilities are comparable to Diorshow, it doesn’t do any volumizing.  Earlier this week, I stopped by my local Ulta to pick up Loreal’s Voluminous Mascara.  I’ve seen good reviews on it, so I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.  Along with the mascara, I decided on a couple of other goodies that I’m already enjoying.

  1. Look at all the goodies!! Can't wait to read your review on the mascara. Also what do you think about the EOS lip balm? 🙂

  2. I'm disappointed with the mascara. It's very subtle and I was hoping for something more dramatic. With such a boisterous name, Voluminous, I was expecting more. No lengthening and very minimal volumizing capabilities. I'm going to use it for about a another week and if I feel the same way about it, I'm going to replace it. Next is either Maybelline Falsies or LOreal Millionize.

The EOS lip balm has been good so far. It's suppose to smooth your lips over time, but I haven't been using it long enough to say, yay or nay yet. It is moisturizing and smells delicious. I've been using it almost every day since I got it, plus I love the packaging; it's super cute and unexpected for a lip balm.

  3. Don't you just love Wet & Wild? They really deliver great products for a cheap price. I love their lipsticks and eyeshadows. NYX isn't short steppin, either. Why spend $10 or $20 for a lipstick when you can buy 5 for the same money?

  4. Yes, I love a good bargain. And the NYX and Wet n Wild cosmetics are definitely a good bargain — priced just right for trial and error.

  5. Nice haul. I have the voluminous as well (friend recommended it to me) and its just so-so. I find it clumps a lot and doesnt add much length. I adore my lash blast much more. I'm buying that EOS lip balm now after seeing your post 🙂 thanks!

  6. Thanks and I completely agree with your assessment of the Voluminous Mascara. I'm still using it but I complain to myself with every coat that I apply. And you'll like the EOS, it's packaging is super cute and I smile every time I use it. Loves it.
